Meet Chef Kurtis Jantz
The son of an American Army officer, Executive Chef Kurtis Jantz was born on the small island of Nago, Okinawa Japan. With an open mind to food, culture and new experiences, he graduated from culinary school in Johnson County, KS and accepted positions in the Netherlands Antilles, Europe and New Orleans before being named Executive Chef of Trump International Beach Resort in 2003. In addition to his role as Executive Chef, he assumed the role of Food and Beverage Director in 2010.
Meet Chef Kurtis Jantz
One of South Florida’s most admired chefs, Jantz’s notable accomplishments include being named the “2008 Rising Star Chef South Florida,” “2008 Rising Star Hotel Chef Award,” and “2007 Philanthropic Chef of the Year.” The Chaine des Rotisseurs named him the youngest Culinaire of the Chaine des Rotisseurs’ Miami Beach Chapter in 2006, as well as awarded him with the “Best Dining Experience of 2006.”
Jantz successfully takes the ‘art of food’ concept to another level, pushing local cuisine in innovative directions. Inspired by an awareness of “food as science,” he focuses on crafting modern cuisine using new flavor profiles, texture combinations and providing guests with a sensory experience that utilizes some of the industry’s most cutting-edge techniques. He takes pride in practicing methods of sustainable cooking, including sourcing products from local farmers and fishermen and designing menus that showcase seasonal produce.
